Change is Coming: New Registration and Trail Pass Requirements

by Fayette Sno Goers on 09/18/14

With winter right around the corner, the Fayette Sno Goers announces the recently changed snowmobile registration and trail pass requirements. These changes are through the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Association of Wisconsin Snowmobile Clubs (AWSC).

Effective July 1, 2015, Wisconsin registration of a snowmobile will cost $30 for three years, down from the current $30 for two years. In addition to registration, any snowmobile operating in Wisconsin will now be required to display a NEW Wisconsin Trail Pass, purchased separately from the registration.

The annual Wisconsin Trail Pass will be available to members who belong to a snowmobile club and the AWSC for $10. Riders who do not hold membership in these groups pay $30 for the required trail pass through the DNR. Revenue from the trail pass will be issued to snowmobile clubs to maintain and develop the trails.

The Fayette Sno Goers hold monthly meetings from September through May on the third Tuesday of each month. To join the club or if you have additional questions about the updated registration policies contact a Fayette Sno Goer member or scroll down to the letter the club was sent.
